NBA officials were trying to find out what Jordan and Resendez knew about the altercation during the dinner that all four attended, the Times reported, citing several unidentified league officials who weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

The NBA also plans to interview Testi, who, according to the Times, has a badly swollen face.

The NBA has yet to interview Griffin but will soon, and he is facing a possible fine and/or suspension by the NBA once the investigation is complete, one official told the Times.

The NBA’s investigative team is seeking to find out if there is security video of the restaurant incident, that was described as typical trash-talking that quickly escalated.

Griffin — the team’s leading scorer at 23.2 points per game — underwent surgery Tuesday on a spiral fracture of the fourth metacarpal and was projected to be out four to six weeks. However, a hand specialist with no information on Griffin’s specific injury told the Times that he believes Griffin could be back sooner because “the metacarpal heals very quickly.”
