Second to Curry on the MVP odds board is James Harden, who is having a similarly successful year statistically, averaging 27.4 points, 6.8 assists and 5.7 rebounds – all career highs. While the Rockets are fourth in the Western Conference at the break with a record of 36-17, Harden has had to pick up the slack with star center Dwight Howard missing 21 games.  He has done just that, putting up great numbers night after night.

LeBron James is the third betting choice, at 3-to-1 odds, to claim his fifth MVP award, and last season’s honoree, Kevin Durant, is a long shot this year at 20-to-1.  In between James and Durant is Anthony Davis at 10-to-1.  So yes, it appears that we’ll have a first-time winner this season.
