The 2019 draft is just weeks away and teams will be hoping to strike gold by drafting either Zion Williamson or Ja Morant. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis continues to be linked with a blockbuster trade, while a host of stars including Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, and Kemba Walker are about to hit free agency.

With plenty happening around the NBA, here’s a look at the biggest news stories and rumors you need to know for June 10th.

Oklahoma City Thunder to make a move for Kevin Love?

The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to make improvements after suffering another disappointing first-round playoff exit. The Thunder won’t be contenders during free agency, although Hoops Habit believes they could target Kevin Love via a trade:

Love signed a new long-term deal with the Cavs last summer, although the franchise has since focused on building around a young core.

Celtics in talks to sign Clint Capela

Following another playoff exit to the Golden State Warriors, the Houston Rockets are hoping to make major roster changes this summer. Clint Capela is among the players that the Rockets are keen to offload, and Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders is reporting that the Celtics want to sign the 25-year-old:

During the 18-19 regular season, Capela averaged 16.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. However, the center struggled during the postseason, averaging just 9.7 points over 11 appearances. He has four years remaining on the five-year, $90 million contract he signed during the 2018 offseason.

NBA Draft prospect tears ACL

Charles Matthews looked impressive during pre-draft workouts, although the 22-year-old’s prospects of getting drafted may have just taken a huge hit. ESPN is reporting that Matthews suffered a torn ACL during a workout with the Boston Celtics:

Matthews this season averaged 12.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game for the Wolverines. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was expected to be selected in the second round of the draft, although the severity of his injury may result in Matthews going undrafted.
