Both Los Angeles franchises have enjoyed incredibly successful offseasons, collectively adding three of the NBA’s top 10 talents to Staples Center. Meanwhile, the likes of the Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Portland Trail Blazers have improved, and the Toronto Raptors will be out to prove their doubters wrong as they look to defend their title.

The majority of business for the offseason has now been conducted, although further trades are likely over the coming months. So, with plenty to look out for, here is all the latest news and rumors you need to know for August 10th.

Mario Chalmers is aiming to make a return to the NBA

Mario Chalmers sat out the 18-19 NBA season after failing to find a team, although the veteran star appears to be eying a comeback. Chalmers is about to suit up for the 3 Headed Monsters of the Big3 League, and during an interview with the Miami Herald, Chalmers revealed that he hasn’t given up hope on returning to the NBA:

Before his year away from the NBA, Chalmers spent two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. However, the point guard is most noted for his eight-year spell with the Miami Heat, as he played an important role in the team’s title-winning seasons in 2012 and 2013.

Jim Boeheim believes Carmelo Anthony can still make an impact in the NBA

Carmelo Anthony has spent nearly a year on the sidelines after being told to find a new team by the Houston Rockets back in November. The 10-time All-Star almost joined the Los Angeles Lakers back in February, although a move broke down, and the franchise now appears hesitant to revisit a deal.

Nevertheless, Anthony has not given up hope of making a return, and Jim Boheim believes that the former Knicks star can still make an impact in the NBA:

After refusing to come off of the bench during his year stint with the Thunder, Melo has recently stated his willingness to play a lesser role in order to prolong his career.

Jeremy Lin open to playing in China

Jeremy Lin has been in the news over the past few weeks, although the 31-year-old has yet to find a team for the upcoming season. Lin appeared to be on the verge of a move to the EuroLeague but reportedly pulled out of the deal at the last minute due to his desire to play in the NBA. However, the point guard told Jonathan White that he would consider a move to the CBA:

Lin ended the 18-19 season with the Toronto Raptors but struggled for minutes as the franchise won its first title. Before his move North, Lin performed well as the Atlanta Hawks’ backup point guard.
