All-Star caliber players including Kevin Love and Bradley Beal continue to be linked with a trade, while a number of veteran free agents remain available. So, with the potential for plenty to happen in the coming weeks, here is all the latest news and rumors you need to know for August 10th.

Changes made to Team USA roster

Team USA continued preparations for their upcoming World Cup campaign on Friday night as Gregg Popovich’s men defeated a Select USA Team 97-78.

While Team USA looked impressive throughout the routine win, Derrick White and Marvin Bagley III managed to impress for the Select team, and the young duo will replace Thaddeus Young and Bam Adebayo on the senior roster.

ESPN is also reporting that a number of senior stars are doubts heading into next week due to recurring injury issues:

Popovich will trim down his roster to just 12 players ahead of the World Cup’s start on September 1st.

White centers the camp following a season that he averaged 9.9 points and 5.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Bagley III averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds during his debut season in Sacramento.

Miami Heat still interested in John Wall and Bradley Beal

The Miami Heat managed to pull off a huge surprise by signing Jimmy Butler earlier this summer, although the franchise will still struggle to compete with the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.

Nevertheless, Pat Riley remains ambitious and explored a deal for Russell Westbrook before the former All-Star headed to Houston.

While it will be difficult for the Heat to add further talent this offseason, the Miami Herald is reporting that Riley remains keen on Washington’s All-Star duo of Bradley Beal and John Wall:

Wall and Beal have been named to multiple All-Star team’s, and the dynamic duo led the Wizards to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

Michael Beasley set to join the Detroit Pistons

Earlier this week it was widely reported that Michael Beasley would follow his former teammate Lance Stephenson to China. However, it appears that Beasley is now set to turn down a $5 million yearly salary in favor of extending his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons:

Beasley was selected 2nd overall back in the 2008 draft but has started less than 250 games during his decade spell in the NBA. Most recently Beasley represented the Los Angeles Lakers, making 26 regular-season appearances, including 2 starts. However, the forward play a career-low 10.7 minutes per game, averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Before moving to the Lakers, Beasley enjoyed an impressive spell with the New York Knicks, averaging 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while also shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc.
