James came out on the offensive after his team dropped Game 1 to the Bulls on Monday. The four-time MVP finished with 33 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Cavs evened the series at one game apiece.

The Rockets also got a lift from their superstar as they tied their series with the Clippers. After a lackluster Game 1, James Harden played like an MVP candidate in the second half. Harden scored 16 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to send the series to Los Angeles tied, 1-1.

Cavaliers 106, Bulls 91  (Series tied 1-1)

Takeaway: For all intents and purposes, this game was over in the first half. After a poor performance in Game 1, Cleveland came out firing on all cylinders, taking a 38-18 lead at the end of the first quarter and putting Chicago in catchup mode for the rest of the night.

James and Kyrie Irving (21 points) did their thing, but hot outside shooting from James Jones (17 points, five 3-pointers) and Iman Shumpert (15 points, four 3-pointers) made the Cavs a nightmare to guard.

Chicago, meanwhile, struggled to find an offensive rhythm from the beginning. Aside from a 14-0 run that still resulted in an 11 point-deficit in the third quarter, the Bulls weren’t able to make things interesting for most of the night.

Highlight: James was in attack mode on Wednesday night.

Quotable: “It’s a game-time decision,” James told TNT when asked if he’ll keep the headband for Game 3.

Rockets 115, Clippers 109 (Series tied 1-1)

Takeaway: Without All-Star point guard Chris Paul, Blake Griffin tried his best to take over, scoring 26 points in the first half as the Clippers jumped out to a 65-57 lead. He would only score eight points in the second half however, which was a big problem as the Rockets took off after the break.

Dwight Howard (24 points, 16 rebounds) and Trevor Ariza (15 points, 13 rebounds) each had big double-doubles as Houston held on for the series-tying win.

Still, the Clippers have to feel like things could be a lot worse after having to play without Paul for the second straight game.

Highlight: Griffin was the story of the first half.

Quotable: “I needed to do something, man. I was struggling, but I just continued to be aggressive,” Harden told TNT about his second-half scoring surge.
